When we think about the defence sector, we often picture large specialized companies. However, more and more SMEs are developing technologies that could address real needs in this market — sometimes without even realizing it.

That is why Axeo is launching its new Market Validation Program – Defence Sector, designed to help companies explore this opportunity.
A program designed to better understand a complex market
The defence market can seem difficult to navigate. Requirements, certifications, and processes are different from traditional markets, which can make it challenging for many companies to know where to start.
Over 12 weeks, from October to January 2026, this program will help you better understand the defence ecosystem and assess whether your technology could find its place in this market. The program will be offered primarily online to make participation easier for companies.
Who is this program for?
The program is designed for SMEs interested in exploring the defence market, regardless of their current stage of development.
The cohort is limited to 25 companies to provide personalized support to each participant.
Good news: thanks to the support of the City of Gatineau, participation fees for eight technology companies will be fully covered.

What to expect
The goal is simple: provide you with the tools needed to understand the market and evaluate your company’s potential.
Throughout the program, participants will have access to:
An introduction to the defence market, its key stakeholders, and how procurement processes work;
Training on certifications, MIL-SPEC standards, controlled goods, dual-use technologies, and cybersecurity best practices;
An assessment of your Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and the potential of your innovation;
Conferences, workshops, group coaching, personalized support, and discussions with industry experts.
A program that starts with the right conversations
The official launch will take place on October 7, 2026, with a panel discussion featuring defence sector specialists. This will be an opportunity to ask questions, better understand market challenges, and hear directly from professionals working in the field.
The program will conclude with a final pitch presentation before an advisory committee made up of industry experts a valuable opportunity to showcase your project and receive strategic feedback.
